The first liberated town in France, the town of Bayeux launched in 1994, as part of the fiftieth anniversary of the Normandy Landings, an annual international event: the Bayeux-Calvados-Normandy War Correspondents’ Prize. This prestigious prize is awarded to journalists from all over the world in four media categories: written press, radio, television and photography.
