The Pierre Giquel Prize for Art Critiscism – 2023 Winners

16.03.23

Since its first edition in 2020, in response to a trend that emerged over the course of the reading of the proposals received, the jury has decided to award another prize. The Pierre Giquel Prize for the writing of an artist on another artist, saluting a practice particularly present in a young generation of artists.
For this third edition, the Pierre Giquel Prize for Art Criticism has chosen to fit into a prospective dimension, highlighting two profiles from a young generation that hybridize the positions of writing between criticism and narrative, poetry and fiction, as well as the statutes between artist, writer and commentator.

The Pierre Giquel Prize for Art Criticism 2023, an endowment of €15,000 has been awarded to Eugénie Zély for the tone and style of her critical texts that link literary research to plastic work and demonstrate an inventive and original commitment to the thought and practice of the text.
