Le Salon de la Photo 2011

Paris ·

06.10.11 → 10.10.11

The Salon de la Photo is the meeting place in France for everything that makes photography with brands that offer their new products of the year and exhibitors more and more numerous.

From 6 to 10 October, at Paris Expo, the Salon de la Photo offers its 80,000 or so visitors the pleasure of discovering a completely original exhibition designed and produced by Karl Lagerfeld.
Original, because the photographer will present simultaneously a series of unpublished photographs recently taken by him and some thirty legendary photographs he has chosen from the collections of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, signed portraits of the greatest names: Richard Avedon, David Bailey, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Doisneau, Robert Mapplethorpe, Helmut Newton, Arthur Penn, etc.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the birth of the first camera that paved the way for digital photography (Sony Mavica) in 1981, the JCII Camera Museum is organizing, for the first time in Europe, with the SIPEC, an exhibition presenting in chronological order the technological evolution of digital photography with more than a hundred cameras.

The Grandes Rencontres is a prestigious program with, as every year, major names in photography. An invitation for all audiences to discover the behind-the-scenes work of professionals, a proximity allowing dialogue between amateurs and specialists.

The Salon de la Photo also presents the Zoom de la Presse Photo and the Zoom du Public on the 12 photographers sponsored by the professional press.

The prize-winners:
PHOTO PRESS ZOOM: Alexandre Parrot – presented by Sylvie Hugues – Réponses Photo
PUBLIC ZOOM : Emmanuel Boitier – presented by Guy – Michel Cogné – Nat’Images and Chasseurs d’Images

And as every year, exhibitors propose animations on their stand such as: workshops, portfolio readings, exhibitions, conferences, advice, meetings, etc.
