Art and Economy / Art and Business
In 2006, the association Art Norac launched the project of a biennial with the objective of establishing a bridge between the work in the company and the work of the artist.
Les Ateliers de Rennes, the first biennial to deal with the relationship between art and the economy, deploys a field of exploration rich in questioning and creative possibilities. This event offers an opportunity to address crucial topics today – work, value, the place of the economy in our lives, thinking about the future – which artists are taking up in many ways. It is also an opportunity for researchers and intellectuals to reflect on the issues addressed, echoing the works.
One of the specific features of the Ateliers de Rennes is to allow artistic practices to meet economic and entrepreneurial practices.
In 2016, the 5th edition of the Ateliers de Rennes – biennial of contemporary art is entitled Incorporated! Attendance at the biennial has been on the rise since its creation: 60,000 visitors are expected for this 5th edition.
