Since their creation in 1979, the Editions du Regard have aimed to explore the 20th century in all areas of the aesthetic field: art (New Realism by Catherine Francblin, Art, the contemporary age of Paul Ardenne, Gary Hill by Charles Stein, George Quasha and Jacintho Lageira, Anselm Kiefer by Daniel Arasse…), decorative arts (Jean-Michel Frank by Leopold Diego Sandez, Pierre Chareau by Marc Vellay and Kenneth Frampton) and Décennies by Anne Bony, mode (Dictionnaire de la mode au XXe siècle by Bruno Remaury and Lydia Kamitsis, Mariano Fortuny by Anne-Marie Deschodt, Doretta Davenzo Poli and Sacha Van Dorssen…), architecture (Jean Nouvel by Patrice Goulet, Fuksas by Francis Rambert…), visual arts (Cy Twombly by Richard Leeman…), photography (La Photographie plasticienne by Dominique Baqué, Soeurs, Saintes et Sibylles by Nan Goldin).

A collection of classical art was created in 1993: Bronzino by Maurice Brock, Giorgione by Jaynie Anderson, Caravaggio by Roberto Longhi, Sébastien le Renaissant by Jacques Darriulat… So many new titles from Editions du Regard.

New collections for a wider public have emerged offering cheaper and lighter dictionaries and books on contemporary art (Vivre l’art) or that of past centuries (L’art du Regard) according to a thematic choice. Some fashion phenomena are also analyzed (collection Regard mode).

Thus the Editions du Regard constitute one of the most significant editorial collections on contemporary culture.
