The Chaos that gives me life. Atlas of an imagined country.
Oleñka Carrasco, a Spanish-Venezuelan photographer and writer, and La Chica (Sophie Fustec), a Franco-Venezuelan singer, author and composer, winners of the 7th edition of the Swiss Four-Handed Life Prize, unveil their joint work at the Rencontres d’Arles 2026.
The chaos that gives me life. Atlas of an imagined country revolves around the tectonics of exiles. A sensitive mapping of multiple crossings to sketch the sensory atlas of an imagined country. An imaginary territory inhabited by encounters beyond identities and nationalities.
Our common approach is part of a personal artistic research: to question exile as a universal movement and as an experience of rupture – painful and destabilizing – that forces us to reinvent ourselves. We approach resilience as a process of reconstruction; repair links, transmit memory, establish gestures of care and solidarity. Oleñka Carrasco & La Chica
