Willy Ronis – 100 Photos for Freedom of Press

07.03.24

Willy Ronis, the poetic realist.
A little boy who runs his wand under his arm, a naked figure leaning over his toilet, a worker haranguing her comrades in a striking factory: the images of Willy Ronis are icons of «poetic realism». Disappeared in 2009 at almost 100 years old, the most committed humanist photographer leaves behind a major and fraternal work.

His most famous photos are gathered in this 75th album of RSF.

The portfolio opens with a foreword by journalist Emmanuel Khérad. It is illuminated by unpublished texts by Pierre-Jean Amar, Didier Daeninckx, Francine Deroudille, Guy Le Querrec, Tangui Perron, Gabrielle de la Selle and Gérard Uféras.
