13th Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan

Perpignan ·

01.09.01 → 16.09.01

Since its first edition in 1989, Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan, international festival of photojournalism, has welcomed the greatest press photographers from all over the world.
In 12 years, Visa pour l’Image has become the meeting place for an entire profession: agency and freelance photographers, agency and media directors, photo service managers, journalists and philosophers of the image…
Every year, around thirty free exhibitions are held, featuring the best of them, such as Dimitri Baltermans, Alberto Korda, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Pierre Boulat, Mary Ellen Mark, Joe Rosenthal, Helmut Newton and this year’s Walker Evans.
Visa pour l’Image is also a springboard for the young generation such as Lise Sarfati (1995 Kodak Award for Young Photographer), Chris Morris (Visa d’Or News 1992), Patrick Robert (Visa d’Or News 1990 and 1996), Alexandra Boulat (Visa d’Or News 1998), Tom Stoddart (Grand Prix CARE International du Reportage Humanitaire 1997), …
It is also a festival devoted by the public, more and more numerous every year. Last year, nearly 180,000 people visited the exhibitions and attended screenings at Campo Santo.
