L’Ingénieur Chevallier is France’s oldest optician. The story begins in 1740.
L’Ingénieur Chevallier is the optician to kings and emperors, and inventor of the achromatic lens, the opera monocular and binoculars.

It’s also a family story. In 2021, the brand was acquired by the Bonnet family, who restored the reputation of l’Ingénieur Chevallier by offering made-to-measure ready-to-wear eyewear.

They have two stores, the more historic Rue des Pyramides and the second in the upper marsh, Rue du Vertbois.
