Marseille · Les Rencontres d'Averroès
20.11.25 → 23.11.25
«Take tongue, speak to each other», yes, but how? At a time when language is tensing and the public space is tense, when words are disintegrating and emptied of their meaning, it is urgent to reaffirm their democratic and citizen power. This year, the Nouvelles Rencontres d’Averroès focus on the importance of speech and dialogue: conversation as an art of exchange, negotiation as a tool for diplomacy, translation as a gesture of hospitality.
Through the richness of Mediterranean multilingualism, researchers, thinkers and artists question our way of weaving a common world. An invitation to listen, to question and to respond by giving voice so that the word does not become background noise but remains an act of thought and resistance.
During the day, round tables, masterclasses, large interviews and debates; in the evening, readings and concerts.
Les Nouvelles Rencontres d’Averroès are produced and organized by Des Livres comme des Idées.
