Vivian Maier – 100 Photos for Press Freedom

05.06.25

140,000 photos and then goes

It is one of the most fascinating stories in contemporary photography. All her life, Vivian Maier, a discreet governess, has walked the streets of New York and Chicago with a camera in her shoulder strap, carrying out a masterful enterprise in the shadows. A series of improbable accidents has brought to light its thousands of images: striking framing, suspended moments, sharp eyes… Unknown icon, Vivian Maier is the subject of the 79th album of Reporters Without Borders, 100 photos for press freedom, prefaced by novelist Camile Laurens.

With contributions from:
Camille Laurens, romancière / Vivian Maier nous ouvre les yeux
