Anne Desplantez & Les Enfants du Sarthé – Parce que. Ici.

Toulouse ·

25.03.26 → 24.05.26

They are between 8 and 18 years old, they have been placed here by child welfare services and few will leave the home before their majority. With each new arrival, the places of everyone and all are put back into play. As adults are busy integrating the new resident, each child is taking the opportunity to renegotiate their own place in the community.

They are between 8 and 18 years old, and grow up in a hamlet supported by educators to whom they refer for daily activities. For everyone, family ties are stretched and questioned although maintained in a context that is both fragile and anxiety-inducing.

Their names are Ryley, Maéva, Morgane, Jessy, Hayden, Mathieu, Justine, Mathys, Quentin, Enzo, Sabri, Louna, Cloé, Zoé, Adrien, Jean-Baptiste or even Yanis, Elisa, Soamélie, Théo, Mindy, Owen, Amine, Ayoub. Each in turn, they decided to take their time and energy to lay down a piece of their story here, without cheating. They entrusted me with their most precious possession, I have been taking care of it for almost two years. I saw them in turn shouting with pain and rage, laughing until they lost their breath and dancing under the stars until transforming the ordinary into a unique and singular symphony.
