Siem Reap . Cambodia · Angkor Photo Festival
23.11.13 → 30.11.13
As in previous editions, the 9th Angkor Photo Festival takes the decision not to impose a theme, but to invite the public to discover – or rediscover – the work of international photographers. This year we received more than 1,000 applications for photo works from 75 different countries. Angkor Photo Festival is a place for meetings, connections and exchanges between friends and professional colleagues in the field of photography. The 2013 program of 8 indoor and outdoor exhibitions and 8 evening outdoor screenings is selected by Françoise Callier, Program Coordinator since 2007.
Each year, the festival gives “Carte Blanche” to two guest curators to present in projection form the photographic works of their choice. > Shahidul Alam, Bangladeshi photographer, author and activist, is the founder and director of Chobi Mela, an international biennial photography festival taking place in Dhaka – Bangladesh. > Since 1989, Jean-François Leroy has been the director of Visa pour l’Image, the only festival dedicated to photojournalism. This festival is held every year in Perpignan, France.
