10th Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan

· Perpignan

29.08.98 → 13.09.98

The International Festival of Photojournalism, Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan, celebrates this year its tenth anniversary. Perpignan is to photo-journalism what Cannes is to cinema: an unmissable event for professionals from 43 countries, present at the tenth edition of “Visa pour l’image”. This year’s star is the fashion photographer, Helmut Newton.
In ten years, this event has made Perpignan, in the space of a fortnight, the world capital of “photojournalism”. The figures speak for themselves: 123 accredited professionals, 8 photo agencies and 2 countries represented for the first edition in 1989.
3,000 accreditations, 203 agencies and 43 countries will be present in the Catalan capital until 6 September.
Like the exhibitions, the evening screenings are free and open to the general public and professionals alike. They will start every evening at 9 p.m. in the old cloister of the Campo Santo.
