In Fécamp, Normandy, the old cod drying buildings now house Les Pêcheries, a spectacular museum dedicated to the sea. Spread over seven floors, it traces the history of the town, from the great fishing industry in Newfoundland to local crafts. Ethnographic collections, fine arts, childhood objects and historical models are all on display. The museum’s belvedere offers a unique panorama of the port and the Normandy cliffs. A lively place, at the crossroads of maritime heritage and popular memory.
